At the turn of the millennium, political, cultural, media and perceptual changes have transformed time-dominated imagination into spatial observation. Concern over “space” has become the latest trend in Western culture and literary criticism. In order to further study this phenomenon and explore the significance of space and politics to literary criticism, the editorial department of “Foreign Literature” and Anhui University School of Foreign Languages jointly conducted the project at Anhui University from October 27 to 31, 2006.
