中国风景园林学会名誉理事长、中国工程院院士、著名的园林学家、园林教育家和花卉园艺学家、原北京市园林局局长汪菊渊教授,不幸因病于1996年1月28日1时30分在北京逝世,享年83岁。汪菊渊先生祖籍安徽省休宁县。1913年4月11日生于上海,1934年毕业于南京金陵大学农学院园艺系,同年参加庐山森林植物园建工作。1936年回母校任教,1938年晋升为讲师,1942年晋升为副教授兼任园艺试验场主任。1946年到北京大学农学院园艺系任教.并兼学院农场主任;1949年转到北京农业大学园艺系任教。1951年到1955年间.任北京农业大学园艺系和清华大学营建系造园专业教授;1955年到1964年任北京市农林水利局局长;1964年后任北京市园林局局长;1972年以后,又历任北京市园林局副局长、总工程师和技术顾问等职。他自1956年以来兼任北京林学院城市及居民区绿化系(后改名为园林系)副主任、长期兼任教授并担任研究生导师。
Honorary chairman of Chinese Landscape Architecture Society, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, a famous landscape architect, landscape educator and flower horticulturist, former director of Beijing Gardens Bureau Wang Juyuan, unfortunately, due to illness at 1:30 on January 28, 1996 Died in Beijing, at the age of 83. Mr. Wang Juyuan native Xiuning County in Anhui Province. Born in Shanghai on April 11, 1913, graduated from Department of Horticulture, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing Forestry University in 1934, and participated in the construction of Lushan Forest Botanical Garden in the same year. In 1936 to return to his alma mater, promoted to lecturer in 1938, 1942 was promoted to associate professor of horticultural test field director. 1946 Peking University College of Agriculture Department of Horticulture teaching, and college director of the farm; in 1949 to Beijing Agricultural University Department of horticulture. From 1951 to 1955, he served as a professor of gardening department of Beijing Agricultural University and a gardening professor of the Department of Construction of Tsinghua University. From 1955 to 1964, he was the director of Beijing Forestry, Forestry and Water Resources Bureau. After 1964, he served as director of the Beijing Bureau of Landscape Architecture. After 1972, Deputy director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscape Architecture, chief engineer and technical consultant. Since 1956, he has also served as deputy director of the Department of Urbanism and Residential Area Beijing Forestry University (later renamed the Department of Landscape Architecture), has long served as professor and served as a postgraduate tutor.
