1996年6月3日,美国、芝加哥.应美国计算机代理分销业展览会的邀请,我们辽宁省计算机技术考察团一行八人来到这风光秀丽的密执安湖畔,参加’96春季COMDEX暨视窗世界展览会.COMDEX是Computer-Distribution Exposition(计算机代理分销业展览会)的缩写,该展览会自1979年在美国拉斯维加斯首办以来,已成为目前世界上最有影响的计算机展览会的代名词.与一般的以销售为目的的计算机展不同,COMDEX是完全的“商业对商业”的市场活动.也就是说,它是工业生产商、经销商以及那些负责购买计算机系统、产品和服务的企业决策者相聚的盛会;是厂商和服务商把他们的信息技术、产品和服务带到全球化的COMDEX市场的黄金机会.经过近20年的风雨洗砺,COMDEX展览会在世界计算机行业内已具相当权威.其范围从当初的以美国为主发展覆盖到美国、加拿大、巴西、朝鲜、德国、印度、日本、墨西哥、新加坡及英国在内的广大地区;规模也从几十家参展商扩大到2000多家,参观者达20多万人.
