上海第二医科大学口腔医学院的前身,震旦大学医学院牙医学系的实际奠基者和创始人,沈国祚教授1906年4月24日生于上海市。1921年毕业于上海徐汇公学,1922年考入震旦大学医学院,1925年因病辍学,直到1934年复学,转入新建的医学院牙医系后期,1936年第一届以第一名毕业于震旦大学医学院牙科系。毕业后赴法国留学,1939年毕业于法国巴黎大学口腔医学院,并继续在欧洲考察牙医教育事业。1940～1951年任震旦大学医学院牙医系系主任,兼上海广慈医院牙科主任,是当时震旦大学唯一的中国人担任的系负责人。解放后,曾任震旦大学校务委员、震旦大学顾问、上海第二医学院口腔医学系副系主任。1980～1982年受聘为上海市牙病防治所顾问。

From 1940 to 1951 Ren Zhendan University School of Medicine Department of Dental Dept. and Shanghai Guangci Hospital Dental Director, was Aurora University at that time the only Chinese as the head of department. After the liberation, former Aurora University School, Consultant Aurora University, Shanghai Second Medical College Department of Stomatology, deputy director. From 1980 to 1982, he was hired as a dentist in Shanghai Dental Prevention and Treatment.
