日本三井化学9月初宣布,旗下普瑞曼聚合物公司位于市原市的姊崎工厂将于2013年3月停产,公司本地乙烯产能会削减约四成。今年早些时候,日本三菱化学公司也已决定,2014年夏季暂停鹿岛联合企业一套乙烯生产设备的运行,就此削减约三成的乙烯产能。日本乙烯产业萎缩,不仅体现在产能急剧减少上。其实,自去年9月以来,日本乙烯产量已经连续12个月同比下降,今年8月更是同比大幅下降8.1%。
Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals announced in early September that its Nippon Kirizaki’s Puruiman Polymers Corp. plant in Mihara will be discontinued in March 2013 and the company’s local ethylene capacity will be cut by about 40%. Earlier this year, Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical Company has also decided to suspend the operation of a set of ethylene production equipment at Kashima Union in the summer of 2014, cutting about 30% of its ethylene capacity. Japan’s ethylene industry shrunk, not only reflected in a dramatic reduction in production capacity. In fact, since September last year, Japan’s ethylene production has dropped for 12 consecutive months, in August this year, a substantial decline of 8.1% year on year.
