麦冬又名麦门冬、寸冬。根茎,叶线形,丛生。以肉质块根供药用。有养阴热、润肺止咳的功效。生长特性: 喜温和湿润环(土井),怕高温。宜选疏松、肥沃、排水良好的砂质圵土栽培。麦冬一年发根两次。第一次在7月之前,根是从老苗基卩或老根发生,细而长,一般不会膨大成块根,称为营养根。第二次从8月到10月是发根的盛期,这些根大卩分是从分蘖苗上
