新中国成立后,葡萄牙政府尚未与我们建交。从内地去澳门,经过拱北海关,迎面是一座牌坊式的建筑,这是著名的关闸。 古关闸是明代的中国政府修建的,目的是为了限制澳葡再向北扩张,关闸每月只开放六次,为的仅是从内地向澳门输出粮食,而平日就用六张封条封住。新中国成立后,由于历史的缘故,澳门仍然归属葡萄牙殖民者管理,在关闸,中澳双方都设有哨兵;这边是澳门,那边是华界,各有四五个哨兵。
