中国始终注视着“阿拉伯东方”。也许是东方人之间的心灵感应罢,自古以来,中国人对阿拉伯世界就有一种持久而执著的兴趣。以文学为例,阿拉伯古典文学名著《一千零一夜》在我国有文化的人们中,几乎是无人不知的。而对阿拉伯近现代的文学作品,解放以后,更进行了大量的介绍和研究工作。几十位作家的百多部作品被介绍给中国读者,其中,埃及长篇小说大师纳吉布·迈哈福兹创作的三十多部长篇小说就有五部被译成中文出版。但遗憾的是,阿拉伯古典文学的瑰宝——阿拉伯古诗
