The United States Navy has for a long time formed a trailblazing tradition of deploying surface ships, aircraft and submarines to the brinkiest of the planet’s environment and to carrying out research, scientific research and operational activities in the vast and remote Arctic and Antarctic regions. This tradition has a long history of 162 years.
