1978年夏、秋两季的高温、强光照是上海地区近百年来罕见的。4～10月份的日照时数高于常年,7～8月份的日照百分率高达61～76%,且雨量少(表1)。
In the summer of 1978 and autumn, the high temperature and strong light are rare in Shanghai in recent one hundred years. The sunshine duration from April to October was higher than that of normal years. The sunshine percentage from July to August was as high as 61% to 76% with less rainfall (Table 1).
