In order to safeguard the national sovereignty and protect the lawful rights and interests of the parties to the maritime litigation, and facilitate the timely conduct of the maritime lawsuit, according to the “Civil Procedure Law of the People’s Republic of China (Trial)”, “Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of the Marine Environment,” “Maritime Transport of the People’s Republic of China Security Law ”and the relevant international conventions to which China is a part. In the light of the international practice, the specific rules governing the jurisdiction over foreign-related maritime litigation in our country’s maritime courts
