空间探索公司的可重复使用“猎鹰”运载火箭预期可以大幅降低入轨成本,进而开启新的太空时代。运载火箭与战略导弹本身就是共通的,战略导弹可改造为运载火箭,运载火箭的技术革命同样也能推动战略导弹的发展。如果“猎鹰”可重复使用运载火箭能够呈指数级降低入轨成本,那么同样的技术如果运用于战略导弹,远程精确火力投射成本就有可能有1~2个数量级的降低。而这种技术成本的大幅度降低,将很可能使战略导弹变成一种战术选择。现在已经有人提出了这样的想法,美国Warontherocks网站
