句子的否定结构是语言中一个很重要而且应用很广泛的范畴。几乎一切肯定结构的句子都可以改为否定结构。从汉英两种语言对比的角度来看,学习和研究英语的否定结构对于中国人掌握英语也有非常实际的意义。初学者往往认为否定句极为简单,只要学会加 not,no 就行了;却不知道英语的否定结构,比其他任何语法范畴要复杂得多。例如:汉语讲“他很不喜欢喝酒”,英语不能说成“He does not like wine very much.”如果有人这么说,那也只是“他不顶喜欢喝酒”。意思是“喜还是喜欢”,只
