Optimistic bias refers to the phenomenon that individuals tend to think they are more likely to experience positive events while others are more likely to experience negative events. In this study, college students as the research object, investigated the undergraduate students optimism bias and temperament optimism and optimism bias. The result shows that there is a general optimism in the undergraduates’ groups, which shows that the undergraduates think the positive events are more likely to happen to themselves than the average undergraduates and the negative events are less likely to happen to themselves. Optimistic bias did not show gender differences. A further study of the relationship between optimism and optimism shows that optimism has a greater degree of optimism than the pessimist over the optimistic bias.
