Teicoplanin is a narrow-spectrum glycopeptide antibiotic that has antibacterial activity against most Gram-positive bacteria. Its antibacterial activity against staphylococci is similar to that of vancomycin, but its antibacterial activity against streptococci, especially Enterococcus faecalis, is stronger than that of vancomycin.
