In recent years, China’s tourism industry has developed rapidly. In 1984, the total number of tourist arrivals in the country was 12.85 million, nearly six times the figure in 1978, with 2.25 million tourists traveling abroad, an increase of 2.6% . However, some unhealthy trends have also emerged in a good situation. Some of the major manifestations are: Some tour guides interpret their travel guides by taking the opportunity to lead tourists to shop or eat in restaurants, get rebates from shops or restaurants (including Coupons, food or other remuneration). There are also a few travel agencies who collect personal tips, exchange foreign exchange certificates and are keen on selling rebates to tourists.
