地处“蜜桔之乡”——黄岩的浙江省科学院柑桔研究所,创建于1936年8月,是我国最早建立的柑桔专业研究机构。由于历史变迁,机构几经更动,该所先后名为浙江省园艺改良场、黄岩柑桔场、浙江省黄岩柑桔试验站、黄岩县柑桔研究所和浙江省科学院柑桔研究所。该所现有职工125人,其中科技人员66人(高、中级科技人员分别为10、19人)。全所占地面积400余亩,
