Urgent domestic energy shortages forced the South African government plans to invest 122 billion US dollars in the next 20 years for power plants, station construction. Reconstruction of the Inga1 and 2 dams in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is intended to better meet the electricity needs of the member countries of the southern African power consortia. The pressure of energy scarcity, which never suddenly felt like 2008, suddenly became familiar to South African nationals. In order to ease the national electricity shortage, the South African government has even implemented a two-month emergency measure on some industrial enterprises.
