听是人类交际活动中最基本的形式,是获取信息的主要手段。据美国保尔·兰金教授统计,“听”占去人们日常语言活动的45%。基础教育阶段英语新课程标准之一是使学生掌握一定的英语基础知识和听、说、读、写技能,形成一定的综合语言运用能力。这说明听力与其他英语技能是紧密相联的有机整体。然而现阶段大多数农村初中英语听力教学处在一种尴尬的境地。
Listening is the most basic form of human communication and the main means of obtaining information. According to Professor Paul Rankin of the United States, “listening” accounts for 45% of people’s daily language activities. One of the new English curriculum standards for basic education is to equip students with a basic knowledge of English, skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and to form a certain integrated language proficiency. This shows that listening and other English skills are closely linked to the organic whole. However, at present, most rural junior middle school English listening teaching is in an embarrassing situation.
