介绍民主党派和民主人士在全民族抗战前为促进国共两党再度合作，在全民族抗战以后为维护国共两党团结御侮抗战到底，推进中华民族解放事业所作的贡献。论述了我国民主党派和民主人士是抗日民族统一战线的重要成员，是多党派合作的积极参与者，是国共关系的协调者，在中国抗日救亡的历史丰碑上谱写着它们光辉的爱国主义篇章。历史地、客观地评述民主党派和民主人士在这段历史时期的地位与作用，肯定它们的爱国思想和爱国业绩就是尊重历史。珍惜这份宝贵的精神财富，可以激发全国同胞和海外侨胞的爱国热情，对促进第三次国共合作、实现祖国的大统一、民族大团结具有现实意义。
To introduce the contributions made by the democratic parties and democrats before the War of Resistance Against Japan to promote the re-cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party and to promote the cause of liberation of the Chinese nation in the aftermath of the All-People’s War of Resistance against Japan in the United Democrats and the Communists. It expounds the fact that our democratic parties and democrats are important members of the anti-Japanese national united front, active participants in multi-party cooperation, and coordinators of the relations between the KMT and the CPC, and compose their brilliant patriotic chapters on the historical monument of China’s anti-Japanese national salvation. Historical and objective assessment of the status and role of democratic parties and democrats during this historical period confirms their patriotic thinking and patriotic achievements that respect history. To cherish this precious spiritual wealth can arouse the patriotic enthusiasm of compatriots across the country and overseas Chinese and have practical significance in promoting the third cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party and realizing the grand unification of the motherland and national unity.
