一、前言探索沿海地区挽近地质时期构造运动的性质、幅度与速率,是一个具有理论与实践意义的重要课题。近年来,随着地质学、地貌学、生物学、海洋学和同位素年代学的迅速发展,一系列既能指示古海面位置,又能测定其形成年代的地貌,沉积与生物标志,已进行了较为深入的研究。由于所发现的古海面指示物是在当时的海面与堆积场所沉积的,尔后又经某种程度的地壳运动而保存于现今的位置,因而它是恢复海面变化与地壳运动的重要定量标志。
