At 23:00 on June 23, 2016, at about 2 pm, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, China experienced extreme weather such as winds, torrential rains, hail, lightning and other extreme weather and caused tremendous damage to parts of Yancheng such as Funing and Sheyang. After the disaster, experts from the National Meteorological Center and Strong Weather Forecast Center said that after the site survey, the wind disaster in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province has been confirmed as a tornado, and the panel of experts judged the grade as EF4.
