Developed by ASEA (General Electric Company) in Sweden, this DC EAF has many advantages over the traditional three-phase electric arc furnace for scrap melting and has a great appeal. This electric arc furnace can be further used to reduce iron ore, and is widely used in the production of ferroalloys from fines.
