When you use the ScanDisk or Disk Defragmenter tools from Microsoft’s Disk Management Software, you need to select from a series of dialogs before you can run them. To save trouble, you can take a shortcut by adding several command parameters so that you can do it automatically the next time you check the disk or defragment it. Right-click on the “Start” button and select “Open” or “Explorer” to find the shortcut icon for ScanDisk or DiskDefragmenter, which is usually located under the Windows Start Menu Programs Accessories System Files folder. Press Alt + Enter, open the “Properties” dialog box, select the “Shortcut” bar, the cursor to the “target” box at the end of the order, and finally in accordance with the following method to increase the command switch.
