作者试验研究的牛鞭草 Hemarthria compressa var.fasicuiata(Lam.)Keng是一种野生、高产和四季常青的优质牧草。它的生活力和再生力强,适应性广,能适应华南气候和土壤,在夏季高温干旱和冬季霜雪的逆境下仍不致枯死。本草结籽率虽低,但营养体的繁殖力强,既可用以放牧,又可青饲、青贮或晒制干草。草层的密度大,年平均亩产鲜草量高达一万四千斤。经测定其适口性好,营养价值高,具有较高的经济效益。
