Objective: To observe the effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells on ammonia-induced inhalation lung injury in rats. Methods: Totally 69 normal SD rats were randomly divided into normal group (n = 23), dexamethasone treatment group (n = 23), stem cell treatment group (n = 23), normal group Saline was given to the tail vein, dexamethasone was given to the dexamethasone treated group, and stem cells were injected into the stem cell treated group. Results: The lung histopathological score and W / D, the number of white blood cells, the protein concentration, the levels of TNF-α and IL-8 in the stem cells treated group were significantly lower than those in the dexamethasone group (P <0.05), which were significantly higher than those in normal group (P <0.05). CONCLUSION: Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells are more effective than dexamethasone in the inhalation lung injury induced by ammonia.
