《20世纪灾祸志》,是我国系统介绍全球20世纪天灾人祸的工具书,是向群众普及灾害科学知识的通俗读物,是献给“国际减灾十年”活动的一份厚礼。《20世纪灾祸志》35万字,编为自然灾害、自然人为混合灾害、人为灾害三卷,下分地质地貌灾害、气象水文灾害、生物灾害、瘟疫、火灾、战争、环境污染、交通事故、工伤事故、社会灾害10章,细分相对独立的灾类34节、29分节,收世界级灾例777条。每例均有具体地点、时间、灾情。各章、节对各类灾害作了概述,提出了灾害机制和防御对策。
