中世纪时期,开始了大规模的《圣经》翻译,涌现了巴格达和托莱多翻译学院,形成了民族语翻译高潮。这些活动在翻译史上具有重要意义,但是中世纪翻译的研究没有得到应有重视。本文梳理和总结了中世纪翻译的特点,并借用当代的翻译理论进行阐释补充,希望正确看待中世纪翻译史,重估其重要意义,为翻译史的研究提供一定的帮助。
In the Middle Ages, a large-scale translation of the Bible began, and the Institute of Translation Studies in Baghdad and Toledo emerged, culminating in the translation of nationality language. These activities are of great significance in the history of translation, but studies of medieval translation have not received the attention they deserve. This paper sorts out and summarizes the characteristics of the translation in the Middle Ages and makes use of contemporary translation theories to explain and supplement. It is hoped that the history of translation in the Middle Ages can be viewed correctly and its significance revaluated to provide some help for the study of translation history.
