历史文化古城嘉定,有着举办菊展的传统,当地的人们对傲霜怒放的秋菊,别有一种特殊的感情,即使是寻常百姓家,也爱种菊、品菊。因此,一年一度的菊花节也成了嘉定人的喜庆日子。嘉定的人民爱菊,嘉定的领导更重视菊花节。区领导把一年一度的菊花节作为一件大事实事来办,广泛动员各行各业参与,菊花节办得热闹、喜庆、盛大,真正体现了嘉定菊花节参与、艺术、发展的主题。
