Objective To analyze and research the status quo of blood donation in groups in this area and provide theoretical basis and solutions for how to better promote blood donation and establish a fixed and effective group blood donor team in the future. Methods A questionnaire survey and analysis was conducted on the blood donors of 19 346 individuals in the region from April 2014 to April 2015. Results The blood donation motivation of group blood donors was the highest (41.7%); the knowledge receiving route was led by 39.8% of donors before blood donation; the proportion of one blood donation of 300-400 m L was significantly lower than that of voluntary blood donation on the streets (P> 0.05). The proportion of 300-400 m L of blood donation in group blood donors was significantly higher than that of the first blood donors. In the screening of blood transfusion-related infectious diseases, the group Blood donors’ blood had higher safety (P <0.05); at the same time, strengthening the notification of pre-donation precautions (32.8%) was an urgent problem to be solved in the current blood donation work. Conclusion Group blood donors have unique structural features, to establish a personalized recruitment and promotion strategy, give play to the blood donation advantages of the group, stabilize and expand the blood donation team, and improve the blood donation mechanism of the group.
