国产竹材试验资料证实,4~7年生的抗拉强度,竹节部份为700公斤/平方公分左右,节中部份为1300~1400公斤/平方公分;同济大学试验的竹皮抗拉强度达4000~6000公斤/平方公分,超出了钢筋的强度。近年来,竹筋混凝土在各方面研究试用有了很大进展,但尚未被应用在桥梁工程上。这无非是因为竹筋的弹性模量比钢筋低,活载的受力复杂,以及它的耐久性到底如何还没有得到很好的解决,故未敢冒进试用,这就阻碍了竹筋混凝土在桥梁工程上的应用和发展。目前国内正在研究变性竹材,已有初步成果,惟成本太高。况且竹材究属是有机物质,即使通过化学加工的变性竹材,是否可以永久不杇,值得怀疑;但是竹筋经过必要的一般防腐处理后,肯定会增加它的寿命。据上海解放日报载:“广
