Objective To investigate the relationship between acute cerebral infarction and pre-infarction infection. Methods A prospective study was conducted to compare 107 cases of acute cerebral infarction patients and 55 hospitalized patients with sequelae of cerebral infarction. Results The patients with acute cerebral infarction had a significantly higher rate of premorbid infection than the control group, especially within 1 week before disease (P <0.05). Bacterial and viral infections also increased with fever and non-febrile infections Risk of cerebral infarction in all age groups; pre-existing infection and type of infection have nothing to do with the severity of stroke; pre-existing infection with respiratory tract infection ranks first. Conclusion Preinfection is one of the risk factors of cerebral infarction in all age groups.
