提到阳刚与阴柔,人们往往首先想到男子的粗犷、刚硬与女子的温婉、绰约。具体说来,作为构成大自然的现象,它们体现在天地万物里,如日与月、山与水;作为中国古典美学的一对重要范畴,它们存在于诗词书画中,如横刀立马、采莲西洲的意象,方笔外拓、圆润收敛的线条。它们甚至早已融入了中华民族的精神,有了阳刚,便有了不因祸福而有所趋避的担当,有了中华民族的自强自立、生生不息;有了阴柔,便有了厚己德以载万物的智慧,有了中华文化的包蕴万方、博大精深。
