People's Education Press compulsory education six-year primary school natural textbook tenth volume “composition of the air,” a lesson there is a “candle burning experiment” interpretation of the experimental phenomena, there are several different versions of the reader is the focus of attention, Articles have been discussed in this article, received and published many articles. One of the most representative articles was written by four people, Ling Zhaoxing, a faculty member of the Hong Kong Institute of Education. It is published in Issue 3 of 2000. They think that when the candle is extinguished, the main reason for the water level rising in the gas collection bottle is the expansion and contraction of the air. Presently, Wang Min from Longyan Experimental Primary School in Fujian Province does not think so. We specially invited relevant experts - Wang Lihua, a teacher from School of Chemistry and Life Sciences, Central South University for Nationalities, to conduct an in-depth study on this issue. They designed scientific experiments and made detailed analyzes based on relevant theories. The articles of Wang Min and Wang Lihua are now published in the hope of helping clarify this issue.
