Every English teacher knows that the Standard for English Curriculum (2011 Edition) clearly stipulates that the cumulative total amount of vocabulary required for reading five levels of target English should reach more than 150,000 words. Let me start with a few very realistic questions: First, the source and quality of the English reading passages; can students have the ability and time to identify extracurricular readings that are basically in line with their age and knowledge structure?
