湖州素有“丝绸之府,鱼米之乡,文化之邦”之称。2005年,全市地区生产总值完成640亿元,五年年均增长13．1%,人均生产总值突破3000美元。经济的快速发展,同样也面临着严峻的治安防范问题。2006年6月,湖州市被公安部、科技部确定为第二批开展科技强警示范建设的城市。为了进一步了解湖州市在科技强警示范城市建设工作中的情况,本刊记者对湖州市委常委、市公安局长叶寒冰进行了专访。
