英语报刊阅读是我国高校英语专业教学大纲规定的选修课之一,但其实际教学过程在本质上并未摆脱传统的中式精读课的教学模式。学生在阅读英文报刊时只会获取文字表面的信息,无法真正理解文本背后的意义,更无法领悟报刊英语的特点与实质。因此,本文将尝试综合Fairclough,Fowler及Thompson的批评语篇分析模型及Halliday的系统功能语法构建一个系统的逐渐深入的可指导英语报刊阅读教学的新框架,并简单阐述如何将其应用于报刊阅读,引导学生从文本理解过渡到超越文本的理解。
English newspaper reading is one of the elective courses prescribed in the syllabus for college English majors in our country. However, the actual teaching process has not escaped the traditional teaching mode of Chinese intensive reading class in essence. When reading English newspapers and magazines, students will only get the information on the surface of the text, can not really understand the meaning behind the text, but can not comprehend the features and essence of newspaper English. Therefore, this dissertation will attempt to build a systematic and in-depth guide to the new framework of English newspaper reading teaching based on Fairclough, Fowler and Thompson’s Critical Discourse Analysis Model and Halliday’s Systemic Functional Grammar, and briefly explain how to apply it in newspaper reading , Guide students to understand the transition from text understanding to beyond text.
