The 12th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Urban Planning of the China Urban Planning Society was held on September 20-23, 2000 in Hefei City and Shucheng County, Anhui Province. More than 30 delegates attended the conference and 12 papers were submitted. At the opening ceremony, Zhang Wenqi, chief engineer of the Anhui Provincial Construction Department, and Guo Mao, deputy director of the Planning Bureau of Hefei, respectively, represented the leaders of the Provincial Department of Construction and the Municipal Planning Bureau, and extended their warm congratulations to the annual meeting.
