Objective: To investigate the value of serum thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) in the diagnosis of breast cancer and the evaluation of postoperative chemotherapy. Methods: The levels of serum TK1 in 48 patients with breast cancer were detected by Western blotting and enhanced chemiluminescence (ECL). The level of serum TK1 was measured in 14 patients who were followed up for 1 to 3 months. Results: The serum TK1 in 10 patients after 4 to 6 cycles of chemotherapy was lower than that in normal people, and the serum TK1 in 4 patients did not go up and down. One year after follow-up, bone metastasis occurred. CONCLUSION: The level of serum TK1 reflects the cell proliferation and has some correlation with the size of the lesion. The continuous follow-up results are helpful for the auxiliary diagnosis of the therapeutic effect of breast cancer and have clinical significance for clinical monitoring of tumor efficacy.
