The New World Dictionary of Contemporary Knowledge (World History Teaching and Research Tool), edited by historian Zhang Xiang, was published by Nankai University Press in early 1993. This is a must-have book for learning and teaching modern world history both in professionalism and universality, and in contemporary international politics, economy, science and technology and culture. It is a guide for studying international issues and understanding the latest information and the latest trends in various disciplines in the world today. The content of this book is drawn from the end of 1945-1988 (many entries to 1992), a total of more than 3000 entries, about 1.2 million words, divided into five parts: (1) comprehensive (including international relations, the world economy, , People’s Movement, Peace Movement); (2) events and organizations in various countries; (3) contemporary science and technology and culture; (4) famous people from all over the world;
