我曾以这样一句话为题写过一篇小文——“读,是一种幸福”。我曾为作家这一种职业做出过我自己所理想的定义——“为我们人类古老而良好的阅读习惯服务的人。”我也曾私下里对一位著名的小说评论家这样说过——“小说是培养人类阅读习惯的初级读本。”我还公开这样说过——“小说是平凡的。”现在,我仍觉得——读,对于我这样一个具体的,已养成了阅读习惯的人,确乎的是一种幸福。而且,将是我一生的幸福。对于我,电视不能代替书;报不能代替书;上网不能代替阅读。站在我们所处的当代,向历史转过身去,我们定会发现——
