The author twice successively went to the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to interview Professor He Zhama on the subject of contesting science and pseudo-science. Mr Ho, 71, looks so young and shy, and looks very lean. In scientific work, Mr Ho has already retreated to second-tier. He is bold and vigorous in defending the dignity of science. For more than a decade, Mr. Ho has united a group of scientists with conscience and insisted on an indomitable struggle with pseudoscience. As early as the 1980s, Chinese academics and academics such as Mr. Ho and Guo Zhengyi sounded the alarm of “guarding against China’s Maehara.”
