以丙酮为溶剂,采用溶液降温法生长1,3,5-三苯基苯(TPB)晶体。在40~45℃温区下生长出尺寸为19 mm×15 mm×13 mm的透明块状晶体,生长速率约为3 mm/d。通过X射线衍射、光学显微镜观察、热分析、荧光光谱和脉冲形状鉴别(PSD)测试对晶体进行了表征。结果表明:降温法生长的TPB晶体为正交晶系,空间群为Pna21;TPB单晶各向透明度高,没有宏观缺陷,但在各面上均存在生长花纹。TPB晶体的熔点为174℃,蒸发损失发生在283℃;TPB晶体在360 nm处具有相对尖锐和强的带边发射峰。TPB晶体总品质因数(FOM)值为0.85,表明它具有优异的中子/伽马(n/γ)射线辨别能力。
Using acetone as solvent, 1,3,5-triphenylbenzene (TPB) crystals were grown by solution cooling. At a temperature of 40-45 ℃, a transparent bulk crystal with a size of 19 mm × 15 mm × 13 mm was grown at a growth rate of about 3 mm / d. Crystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction, light microscopy, thermal analysis, fluorescence spectroscopy and pulse shape discrimination (PSD) tests. The results show that the TPB crystals grown by cooling method are orthorhombic and the space group is Pna21. The TPB single crystal has high transparency in all directions without macroscopic defects, but the growth patterns are present on each surface. TPB crystals have a melting point of 174 ° C and an evaporation loss of 283 ° C. TPB crystals have a relatively sharp and strong band edge emission peak at 360 nm. The total figure of merit (FOM) of the TPB crystal is 0.85, indicating excellent neutron / gamma (n / gamma) ray discrimination.
