2002年6月四川省南溪县如期实现了应保尽保的目标。全县16个乡镇、5个市属以上厂矿企业共有8667人按人均130元的标准享受最低生活保障待遇。2003年2月,南溪县新一届人民政府又将低保工作摆在了今年要为人民群众办十件大事的首要位置,县民政局也按全国低保工作会议精神,适时调整工作部署,在巩固扩大既得成果的基础上,将今年低保工作的重心转向探索和实施规范管理。
