虽然发达国家早在一、两年前的市场调查中就有50％左右的用户认为在他们的LAN基础结构中将包括100Mb/秒的以太网和交换式网络,但我们不应忽略那些比较落后,但却普遍存在的小型局域网。在我国,小型局域网的建设具有相当的普遍性,许多单位在原有设备的基础上,建立小型局域网实现资源共享、集中管理,使得原有设备的利用率大大提高,这是比较符合我国目前的环境与条件的。
