In this study, the relationship between early stimulation and local ventricular wall contractility was studied in awake dogs using ultrasound measurement techniques. When stimulating the anterior wall of the left ventricle, the increase of the total wall thickness (TPT) in the anterior wall decreased from 19.6 ± 3.2% in the control group to 6.7 ± 6.6% (P <0.01), whereas the isovolumic compartment wall thickness increased The mean IWT increased from 2.2 ± 2.8% to 95.3 ± 10.5% (P <0.001) in the control group. The TPT in the posterior wall decreased from 26.7 ± 14.4% in the control group to 10.0 ± 4.8% (P <0.05), while the IWT increased from 1.9 ± 2.7% to 87.0 ± 18.1% (P <0.001) in the control group. Meanwhile, stroke volume was significantly decreased regardless of the anterior or posterior wall stimulation. LVdp / dt also decreased significantly with the shortening of the connection interval. Therefore, early stimulation induced myocardial contractility may be related to cardiac pump function and reduce the contraction performance.
