桑拿(sauna)或桑拿浴(sauna bathing),又称芬兰蒸汽浴,是一种独特的汗浴方式,原指“一个带有炉灶的独立的木建筑物或一间木头做的房间”。最原始的桑拿是在小木屋里的地上挖一个坑,坑上用石头垒一个灶,用木材把石头烧热,往石头上洒水产生蒸汽,人坐在木屋里出汗、洗浴。木屋里最初是泥地,烟火把四壁熏得漆黑,因此,亦称“烟桑拿”。后来,桑拿房内才陆续安装了烟囱,使之显得干净整洁。在古老的芬兰,桑拿并不完全是洗浴、取暖的地
