去年我在北京和各地看了80多场戏,感到戏曲艺术的整体水平在提高,各剧种都有一些很优秀的演员,他们演唱的韵味很足,也发挥了剧种的特色;一些杰出的导演把戏做得很精致,并且展现了不同的风格追求。但到年底报刊约我写一年戏曲的综评时,我又感到很踌躇。为什么呢?就是真正出类拔萃、让人拍案叫绝的作品还不多见,还找不出能表明新突破的代表性作品。原因何在呢?我想首先是缺少特别优秀的剧本。
