对苏州市７００名居民吸烟状况调查结果表明，苏州市成人标化吸烟率为２４．９８％，男性吸烟率为４７．５７％，女性吸烟率为２．６７％。吸烟率较高的职业人群为失业、工人、干部。受教育程度越高，吸烟率越低。吸烟者中常吸烟者占６９．３４％．重型吸烟各占１０．９５％．有３５．８１％的吸烟者在公共场所吸烟。
The survey of smoking status of 700 residents in Suzhou City showed that the adult standard smoking rate in Suzhou was 24.98%, the male smoking rate was 47.57%, and the female smoking rate was 2.67%. Occupational groups with higher smoking rates are unemployed, workers and cadres. The higher the level of education, the lower the smoking rate. Smokers accounted for 69.34% of the regular smokers. Heavy smoking accounts for 10.95% each. 35.81% of smokers smoked in public places.
