Keeping the archives is a major undertaking that will safeguard the true nature of the history of the party and the country. Every archivist must be devoted to his duties, using modern science and technology to safeguard the safety and integrity of archives as much as possible, eliminating and restricting the unfavorable factors that undermine the archives and maximizing the “longevity” of archives is the honorable duty that history has given us. The problem now is that there are many archives made of materials that do not meet the requirements of long-term or permanent preservation. Some have been destroyed and used for a long time under unfavorable conditions and have become indispensable to non-rescue work. Some archives are deteriorating and fading. If no measures are taken, they will “change the treasure to waste.” In many areas, there is an urgent need to introduce and understand the theories and techniques in custody. In response to the above, we invite relevant comrades to write articles and open a special column on “Archives Protection Technology Seminar”. This lecture is to be divided into several topics such as paper, handwriting, insects, mold, temperature and humidity, warehouse building and restoration. As file protection technology is a comprehensive subject covering a wide range of issues to be solved, we will try our best to introduce the relevant basic knowledge to all of you and create conditions for our comrades to further study and study in the future. In the meantime, we will continue to vote on spontaneous contributions on the protection of technology. We have also lacked experience in opening up the special lectures in this field and hoped that the vast majority of readers will make timely comments so as to make improvements.
